TRENDING: Peek-a-BRA

by - March 12, 2014

The Spring/Summer season is finally upon us and women across the spectrum are looking forward to relinquishing their coats and leather for much lighter layers. If you're one of those seeking to really commit to the season's free spirited, laid-back and effortless fashion, here's a trend you may want to consider:

EXPOSED DELICATE BRALETTES

High fashion model Erin Wasson donned a For Love and Lemons Love You Knot Bondage Bralette on the cover of the March 2014 issue for Harper's Bazaar Singapore.

This bralette is so chic! The cut outs provide just the right amount of exposure while still remaining modest. Paired with the tailored suit, Erin represents the edgy sophisticate- feminine yet dapper.

An everyday example of the trend has been spotted among fashion bloggers who have presented several tasteful ways to style this trend. It's casual and easy, perfect for those days you really just feel like just throwing on a tank.

The simplicity of the trend however does call for some accessory action!

You can never go wrong with a complementary purse and shoes- but if you're really looking to doll up, layering statement jewellery is your best bet!

Beyonce wore a Gypsy Warrior Play On Mesh Bralette with a loose tank top for a casual yet edgy  ensemble during her "XO" video shoot. The gold accents really brought this look full circle.

Similarly Kylie Jenner nailed this trend at the All Sports Film Festival! I love how she styled her For Love and Lemons Bat Your Lashes Lace Bralette as an accent for a relaxed cropped top. The metallic gold pencil skirt served as a great statement piece, requiring only a simple purse to complete the look.

Of  course much like other fads there are some definite NO-NOs! This trend will only work with special types of bras specifically mesh, lace, sheer, chiffon and other delicate materials are recommended. Your everyday undergarment are generally NOT flaunt-worthy, so this for example is unacceptable:

(Jennifer Hudson really got it wrong here)
