Halloween Inspired Everyday Chic

by - October 15, 2014

Hey dolls,
It's October which means the spirit of Halloween is in the air. I was inspired to do a post for persons who want to have a little pre-Halloween fun wearing "everyday" items without looking too "costumey". In Jamaica, Halloween isn't a national fanfare as it is in the states so unless I attend a private party or something along those lines these items are the closest I'll get to playing dress up. I've selected a few conversation pieces that I hope you find equally fascinating as I do!

Halloween Inspired For Everyday Chic

1. ZeroUV Retro Mod Cat Eye Sunglasses
These remind me so much of a Batwoman/ Catwoman mask! Sunglasses are really one of the best daytime statement pieces and these have quite the charm. With this pair you are bound to get all the attention you would had you been wearing a full catwoman suit 'cause I can guarantee more than a few head turns when you brandish them! No matter what your outfit looks like, you can count on these sunnies to be the headliner. (only $9.99!!)
How cute is this clutch bag! Actually, forget cute this is pretty badass. As I write I am here seriously planning what to wear with this purse that I dont even own lol. I've resolved a little black dress, minimalist strap sandals and red lipstick are really all this little gem needs! Especially necessary for a sexy/ sultry night out with your girls. (only $29.00)

Every good superhero deserves a cape! This year the Cape Jacket has been a huge trend, and why wouldnt it, who doesnt want to be a superhero even for a day! I personally own a version of this cape in black which I will be showing you all very soon! Apart from this burgundy colour NastyGal also has this available in a bright red, blush and black. This is also very chic-Little Red Ridinghood- esque lol don't you think? ($68 but cheaper versions available at Forever21 and Windsor Store in black & blue)

This skirt happens to be a very realistic interpretation of what The Little Mermaid, Ariel would wear during her visits on land. The iridescent sequin resembles real scales for that perfect mermaid glow that every girl wants. Here is cool idea from Stylescrapbook's Andy on how to style a mermaid inspired skirt. (on sale for only $26) {longer mermaid skirt option}
Even though this isnt in the collage, I thought this piece was certainly worth mentioning! For only $5.95 (what a STEAL) this HM Bat/ Halloween-inspired change purse will add a little spunk to your wardrobe.

Can you think of any other cool accessories or garments that are inspired by Halloween costumes but make chic everyday items? Please share!

until next time,
Do Good, Dress Well
